Journey To the Cross is an impactful, free hands-on event designed for children and parents to experience together. Upon being greeted by our team, your arrival at a decorated entry will begin a self-guided journey that takes you back in time beginning with man’s original sin in the Garden of Eden to Jesus’ final week on earth.
Individuals dressed in period style clothing will guide you through the experience of ten interactive stations where children will be immersed in sensory activities such as smelling perfumes similar to those used to wash Jesus’ feet, hammering nails into wood, and carrying a heavy, wooden cross. All these and more culminate with Jesus’ tomb and His resurrection, reminding everyone of the real meaning of Easter: Christ’s victory over death!
Your final experience will be a visit to the Journey Cafe where hosts will provide treats and a Take-Home bag for each child. Our hope is that you will better understand the life-changing message of what Christ did on the cross for each of us in a way that’s not easy to forget.
