All God’s Good Promises
God is a promise-keeping God and the book of Joshua contains examples of seeing many fulfilled to His people. It is a book of adventure and great stories yet most of all it is an account of God Himself and the truth of scripture. What does that have to do with us? We, too, are able to see precious promise fulfilled, one of which is God saying he would send the Messiah, Jesus Christ, to provide eternal life for us. The challenge? What are you going to do with that?

Joy From the Upper Room
Have you pictured yourself in the Upper Room with Jesus and the disciples, imagining what must have been going through their minds, the conversations they had? Have you pictured yourself walking in their footsteps in the days leading up to the cross? Despite the fact troublesome days were ahead the beauty of it all is that His joy is given to all those who believe on His name. Don’t live each day troubled and fearful – remember that Jesus calls you to a better way, a life of joy even in the darkest moments.

Staying Strong in a Hostile World
Living as a Christian often means being misunderstood and at times mistreated. Yet despite this we should continually be asking ourselves, How can we remain faithful to God in a world that rejects him? Can God use me today? Daniel found himself in the similar situation of being persecuted for his faith, not all that different from our modern times. Despite that, his life and example are found in God’s Word to encourage and reassure us that He is still faithful and on His throne, ready to do a work in our life just as He did in Daniel’s.
